Back to School Prayer and Cookout

August 20 | 6:30pm

WPAC and Parking Lot

Join us for a fun and meaningful evening as we gather to pray for our children, teachers, and schools heading into a new school year.

Bring lawn chairs and meet us at the WPAC/Lift Building—dinner will be served in the back parking lot. The playground will be open, along with bounce houses and sand volleyball for the kids.

We’ll eat, play, and close out the summer together—with prayer at the center.

No registration required. Bring the whole family!

Our Joy Special Needs Ministry embraces the distinct needs of each individual.  We celebrate each person’s unique abilities, recognizing that every person is a one-of-a-kind creation by God.  Your child will discover God's purpose and plan for their lives. To ensure your time with us is a smooth and positive experience, we need some information about you and your child. This information affords us the opportunity to provide personalized support tailored to the specific needs of your child. Please take a moment to fill out the form below, and one of our team members will be in touch as we begin preparing for your family.  We are excited to meet you and look forward to the opportunity to get to know your family better!

We have a desire to love and lead families we meet into an everyday walk with Christ. We believe the “felt” needs of most young families today are:

Our Desire is

To see families:

  • Connecting to the church and other families in a healthy, spiritually motivated atmosphere.
  • Intentionally Spending time together as a family and with others.
  • Growing in their walk with Jesus and passing along that faith from one generation to the next.
  • Celebrating Spiritual Milestones and Transitions within the body of Christ.

To promote and execute a ministry-wide culture of cultivating the family as the primary source for spiritual nurturing of the next generation.

To intentionally influence parents to be the spiritual leaders of the home.

To work hand-in-hand with parents through the Kidz and Students age-group ministries to:

  • Share and Invite kidz, students, and parents to respond to the Gospel.
  • Equip and Support the parental responsibility of discipling their own children.

To accomplish this, we will do four things:

The Trail Home Family Discipleship Strategy

The HOME - Parents are the primary disciplers.  Parents modeling, loving, communicating, and teaching their kids to follow Jesus.

The CHURCH - Equipping parents and reinforcing Biblical truth. Providing environments that teach and celebrate Biblical truth while strengthening what is taught at home.

4 Trail Markers for a Healthy Parenting Journey:

Parenting can be overwhelming no matter what stage of the journey you are on. Just as on a trail, markers are helpful in keeping you pointed in the right direction. The Families ministry of FBCIT is committed to come alongside and equip you to succeed in each of these critical areas of parenting by providing encouragement, training, and intentional environments throughout your parenting journey.
