Missions

We are on mission in our local community!
We take seriously the call of Jesus to GO! Our focus in Missions is to reach the world with the good news of Jesus. This begins at home, right here in Union County and goes to the world. Explore where we are serving people locally, nationally, and internationally and find your place to plug in!

“Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
- Matthew 28:19

Trail Life USA

Thursdays 6:30pm-8:00pm

Student Center

Trail Life USA is a Church-Based, Christ-Centered, Boy-Focused mentoring and discipleship journey that speaks to the heart of a boy. Established on timeless values derived from the Bible and set in the context of outdoor adventure, boys from age 5 to 18 are engaged in a Troop setting by male mentors where they are challenged to grow in character, understand their purpose, serve their community, and develop practical leadership skills to carry out the mission for which they were created.

Our Trail Life Troop will meet during the school year on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00PM. By design, Trail Life is an outdoor-based program, so most meetings will be held outside, weather permitting.

Please note:  An adult from each family must volunteer with the Troop. Priority registration is given to those boys whose adult volunteers by serving weekly during meetings.

Student Center

American Heritage Girls (AHG) is a Christ-centered character and leadership development program for girls 5 to 18 years of age. AHG is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. Our forward-focused program emphasizes six key components to achieve the mission of building women of integrity, known as the AHG Program Emphases, which includes programming, experiences, and resources for every age level. Girls who complete the program will be Christ-following servant leaders who are honoring, relational, anchored in Christ, and competent.

Our AHG Troop will meet during the school year on Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00 PM.

Please note:  An adult from each family must volunteer with the Troop. Priority registration is given to those girls whose adult volunteers by serving weekly during meetings.

Good News Club - Sharing Jesus in Public Schools

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) has an afterschool program called "Good News Clubs", where Jesus is shared in our public schools.

In a partnership with FBCIT, CEF is looking for volunteers to help assist with the following:

  • Teach Bible stories
  • Missionary lessons
  • Lead songs
  • Provide snacks
  • Organization/Planning

Children who attend each week grow in their understanding of Jesus and Biblical truths as they hear the Gospel. This engaging, high-energy time also includes scripture memorization, interactive Bible-based games, and activities that reinforce each day’s lesson. Good News Club not only brings the Gospel into public schools but also helps connect children and their families to the local church.

Volunteer opportunities are available in the fall, spring, and summer. Additionally, if you're interested in starting a Good News Club chapter at your elementary school, contact Tammy Mercer for more information and next steps.

Go Local

We are on mission in our local community.
Home is where the light should shine the brightest! Through #ForUnionCounty, FBCIT comes alongside many people in our community to assist them with needs. Our heart is to love and lead everyone we meet into a personal relationship with Jesus.

Go National

We are on mission in our nation!
Partnering with the North American Mission Board has allowed FBCIT to support over 100 new Church Plants from Massachusetts to Oregon. We are actively involved with SBC Disaster Relief work, providing training for volunteers, supplies, and volunteer work teams whenever a natural disaster comes. Reach Appalachia is our mission plan to assist the people of Appalachia by bringing them the love, peace, and strength that comes only from Jesus.

Go Global

We are on mission around the world!
FBCIT is focused on four areas of the world. Our goal in all four is to love and lead people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

We also support teams that arise within our FBCIT church family who are burdened for other areas of the world including Guatemala, Haiti, Nepal, India, and others! We are involved long term with Wycliff Bible Translators in translating the Bible into the Yansi language. The Yansi are a people group in northwest Democratic Republic of Congo.
